Edward VI named Lady Jane Grey as his successor, because she was a protestant, Edward and his council did not want the return of the Roman Catholic religion. Lady Jane Grey was the great-grand daughter of King Henry VII. Edward and Jane were first cousins – once removed.
Died
12th February 1554 – Tower of London. Cause of death – executed for high treason.
Buried – Church of St Peter ad Vincula, Tower of London.
