Parents

Mary, Queen of Scots, and Henry Stuart, Lord Darnley (Mary was the great grand-daughter of King Henry VII).

Married

Anne of Denmark (1589-1619).

Coronation

29th July 1567.  Reign 4th July 1567- 27th March 1625.

Claim to the Throne

Elizabeth, the last of the Tudors, died childless and James was the closest relative. James descended from Margaret Tudor, who was his great grandmother and sister of King Henry VIII.

Died

27th March 1625 Theobalds House, Hertfordshire.  Cause of death – dysentery.
Buried – Westminster Abbey.
