King William III and Queen Mary II (ruled jointly)

4th November 1650, Binnenhof, The Hague, Holland.

Parents

William II of Orange and Mary, Princess Royal (daughter of King Charles I).

Married

Mary (his first cousin and daughter of the Duke of York later King James II).

Coronation

11th April 1689.  Reign 1689 – 8th March 1702.  

They ruled jointly until Mary’s death December 1694 – William then ruled alone. 

(Queen Mary – burial place Westminster Abbey.)

Claim to the Throne

Mother eldest daughter of King Charles I.

Died

8th March 1702 – Kensington Palace, London.  Cause of death – pneumonia.

Buried – Westminster Abbey.
